EMC = SUXTalk about cheap, lame, below the belt marketing sleazery. EMC mails out “promtional” upgrade offers to all GSX customers. We own 8 licenses of GSX 3, which are now replaced by VMware Server, a free product. We spent $2000 per license on a product that became “free” within a year. Still recovering from that bullsh*t, now we get this peace offer to upgrade to Virtual Infrastructure, a new product, for FREE. Check out the email below… “Upgrade Now” it says. So I click the link. It displays a registration form. No big deal, typical stuff. After filling it out, it progresses (or I should say degresses) to a banner saying “Thank you! A sale representative will contact you shortly to discuss your upgrade plans” and then displays a “Top 10 reasons to upgrade to Virtual Infrastructure” PDF brochure. I CAN’T WAIT for that poor bastard to call. I’m going to rip his/her ears off. Their only hope to survive is if I haven’t had my coffee before they call. It’s going to be a bloodbath. >:( 3 comments to EMC = SUXYou must be logged in to post a comment. |

[...] Virtually no help By imnotned I guess it’s not just me, I have been trying to get a quote out of EMC/VMWARE for months now without any luck… Why can’t they just do like most other companies and put their prices on their website. I don’t want to talk to some sales weenie, I just want a price so I can put together a semi realistic budget. Then I see this EMC=SUX by a friend of mine. [...]
Well, supposedly SoftMart can get us quotes, which might be better for us since they can eat the pain of dealing with the vendor.
