A moment to pause

I went on my regular jog around the nearby park (Mount Trashmore), which has a 1.4 mile inner track around a lake, and another extension loop that takes it out to 1.7 miles.  It’s a really cool park, and we’re really lucky to live within walking distance.  When the weather is nice, I’m there at least twice a week, sometimes more often.  My kids are there more than I am.  Anyhow, today the temp dropped to low 50′s and the sky cleared with some high altitude streaky kind of clouds.  I did my laps (3 around the inner loop: 4.2 miles) and did some runs up and down the hills.  Afterwards, I sat atop the larger of the two hills and watched the sunset.  Man, it was perfect.  Blues, pinks, purples and oranges and it reflected off the contrails of high-altitude overhead passing aircraft.  I had my iPod plugged into my head and listened “The Blue” by David Gilmour (of Pink Floyd fame).  Simply perfect.  The perfect sunset with the perfect matching song.  canoe-sunset.jpgOk, that’s not really a picture of the park.  But the sunset was very similar.  Enough to force me to use it as an example.  Actual results may vary.  Now my right knee hurts like hell.  Gotta ice it down now….
