God almighty. If you’re reading this, you might as well jump off a bridge. I typically discuss software technology and business and legal implications of technology and marketing (or the failures thereof). Sound interesting? You need help. Seriously.

We went up to the Eastern Shore town of Wachapreague (twice) to watch the attempted launch of the TacSat-3 satellite, from Wallops Island. The first night it was only the iPhone for data on the launch, I usually have pretty good coverage passing through on the road about 5 miles West of the town, what a difference 5 miles can make. The second night I also brought my Mac with a Verizon broadband card, not a whole lot of signal there either, there was just enough that we could sort of pull down updates from NASA, my plan was to share the connection, but the bandwidth was so slow, it would just die when trying multiple connections….
I guess it is ironic that you van be standing less then 20 miles from some amazing technology, and attempt to watch stuff be put into orbit, but you can’t use a cell phone without crossing the street, standing in the field facing South….

Meanwhile one of those scary things happened today, I actually have the somewhat same opinion about Android and the G1 as Steve Ballmer, and considering that I may have to reconsider my opinion towards the whole Android. Well even a broken clock is right twice a day…
